As a lifeguard, your enthusiasm for swimming and commitment to excellent customer service will shine as you supervise our members in the pool and assist our Operations team in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.

Job Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Be Friendly and Approachable: Maintain a calm and friendly demeanor while interacting with members.
• Ensure Safety: Monitor the safety of our members in the pool and spa areas. You will be responsible for your own safety and the safety of others at all times.
• Conduct Safety Checks: Consistently perform safety checks and accurately record the results to ensure a safe environment.
• Monitor Water Quality: Regularly check chemical levels in the water and clean it when necessary to maintain a healthy swimming area.
• Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure all areas are clean and adhere to Virgin Active’s high standards.
• Complete Mandatory Training: Participate in all required training sessions and comply with health and safety regulations.
• Manage Duty Shifts: Fulfill duty shifts when required, taking responsibility for staffing and facility issues during your shift.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must have:

• A current lifeguard qualification, such as the IQL National Pool Qualification (RLSS), HABC Level 2 Award in Pool Lifeguarding (RQF), or the STA Professional Award for Pool Lifeguard (RQF).
